Palisades Water Quality

Properties in The Palisades are subject to the requirements and restriction of the Palisades Water Quality Management Plan (PWQMP).  The PWQMP is overseen and administered by the Palisades Master Association.  Enforcement actions for violations of the PWQMP are handled by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services.

The Master Association is only responsible for BMP - Stormwater Control Measures which have officially been turned over and accepted by the Master Board on land that has been deeded to, or via an easement to, the Master Association.

Communities subject to the PWQMP, but not the responsibility of the Master Association, are: Regency, Brightwater, Newton Apartments, Lakeside Apartments, Lake Wylie Baptist Church, Palisades Episcopal School, Palisades Soccer Complex, Palisades County Club. and Sports Complex.

There are three neighborhoods not in the Palisades Water Quality Management Plan: Austin's Creek, Whispering Pines and the Northeast portion of Rusty Creek.  The reason is these neighborhoods were not part of the original redistricting for the PWQMP when it was formed on December 7, 2002.  These neighborhoods are part of The Palisades Homeowners Association. It is an administrative technicality they are not PWQMP.

All properties in The Palisades are subject to the Lower Lake Wylie and/or Lake Wylie watershed restrictions.

The governing document controlling the responsibility for BMP’s in the Palisades is the Acknowledgement and Deceleration of Acceptance or Responsibilities for BMP’s in the Palisades
